Borgias Keepin It Goin

Showtime has renewed The Borgias for a third season and the creators are hoping to keep things going until season four, the final one.  They apparently have always planned on keeping things to 4 seasons and getting the third makes things that much easier.

For season three, Academy Award-winner and Emmy nominee Neil Jordan (The Crying Game, Interview with the Vampire), will continue to serve as creator, executive producer, and will serve as writer and director of select episodes.


Season two of THE BORGIAS currently, airs on Sundays at 10 p.m. ET/PT, and [its season] will [air] [sic] on Sunday, June 17^th at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

I like The Borgias and its one of the shows I love from Showtime.  I can't say I watch this on Showtime but thankfully I get to Netflix this badboy for the entire season.  As I write this, I'm looking at my Disc 3 for The Borgias and will finish my first season.  Hopefully, the writers, et al, can keep things going and make it fun if not good and accurate.

Don Cheadle Builds a House of Lies

OK fans of dark skinned black men (Hi, Chelsea Handler *waves*) get your mouth relaxed to open in awe.

Showtime has announced that Don Cheadle of Hotel Rwanda and Iron Man 2 fame is going to appear in a new show.

HOUSE OF LIES, a half-hour, dark comedy created and written by Matthew Carnahan (Dirt) from the hit tell-all book House of Lies: How Management Consultants Steal Your Watch and Tell You the Time by Martin Kihn, which will go into production in February 2011 in Los Angeles, CA. Jessica Borsicsky (Flash Forward) will serve as executive producer, and Emmy^® winner Stephen Hopkins (Californication, 24) will direct.

“Don Cheadle is one of the great dramatic actors of our generation,” said SHOWTIME^® President of Entertainment David Nevins. “He also happens to be an extremely funny man. HOUSE OF LIES is the perfect show to take advantage of both sides of him. Honestly, I would have been happy just to get his autograph.” 

HOUSE OF LIES is a subversive, scathing look at a self-loathing management consultant from a top-tier firm. Cheadle will star as Marty, a highly successful, cutthroat consultant who is never above using any means (or anyone) necessary to get his clients the information they want.

Hopefully this show will be as critically aclaimed as Hotel Rwanda and as money making as Iron Man 2.
