I See a Memoriable Sunset in Your Eyes

Jangsara from MakeUp Geek came up with the tutorial for this look and it is rocking my lady balls.  I love the fading and blending of colors and the unexpected metallic sheen these colors have.  This is something I would wear to work and dare the ire of my bosses.  Eh, who am I kidding, my bosses don't care what I do as long as the work gets done.

Below is the bare bones tutorial for how to achieve this look.

Me likey so much!!  I can't wait to get these colors and try this out.

Watermelon Look for Summer

This pretty lady is Marlena of MakeUp Geek and she has a tutorial on how to achieve this look.  She is doing an entire series on different makeup looks inspired by fruits.

This is the YouTube video tutorial to get the watermelon version.

I like her tutorials.  She has a pleasant voice and is very knowledgeable on how to teach people to replicate the looks.  She tells you the type of brush (brand name, brush number, and/or style of brush) and knows to put her hand behind the brush so her camera will pick up on it.  She doesn't miss a step and gives brand names with specific product names (NYX in Lemon, etc.).  I kind of hate it when someone doing a makeup tutorial says I have a kind of silver-yellow eyeliner and they hide who it is from for whatever reason.  You as a makeup professional should have favorite brands, this is why I am coming to you.

Marlena says she loves pink and green together and so do I.  This look is really fun and with just a few changes could be shifted into winter as well making it a year round look.  I'm putting this in my repertoire to learn on automatic for when I need to go out looking good in a hurry.

Pierre Hardy Snakeskin Platform Sandals - A Dream in Motion

These bad boys are from Pierre Hardy.  I want to think of him as the adopted son of one of the Hardy Boys but secretly is Nancy Drew's son vis a vie a wild night in Paris and either Frank or Joe did her a solid.  He uses his fashion acumen to draw Nancy to his story every fall where she does her annual shopping and conversates with him not knowing its her son.

Anyway, back to reality these shoes are not a mystery and my fiending for them can be easily solved with a purchase.  They run at $1500 which is an entire semester of classes including books and gas to get to school.  So, I'm going to admire this emulsion of multiple colors, nebulous shapes, snakeskin, and, of course, the cubist web, a trademark Hardy theme from via the web and wait until I get a $100K a year job before I drop that kind of cash on shoes.  Le salivate.

5 Inch +

Holy Bejesus Christ!  I love shoes with a passion most all women know.  These bad boys are totally in the unnecessary zone.

I can actually afford some of these shoes, if I save for a year or found a sugar daddy.  Here's to self respect and flats.

1. Christian Louboutin Crisscross Platform d’Orsay: Coming in at a quarter over 6″, this vixenish platform reaches new heights of in-your-face sexiness.
At
Bergdorf Goodman for $1,395.
2. Giuseppe Zanotti Bow-Detail Platform Sandal: With a platform as voluptuous as the heel is tall and reed-thin, this is a bowed sandal that would make Minnie Mouse blush.
At
Bergdorf Goodman for $895.

3. Charlotte Olympia Leopard-Print Platform Pump: Charlotte’s trademark island platform is a welcome sidekick to a teetering heel. The fact that this one is rustic rope makes this leopard all the more charming.
At
Bergdorf Goodman for $895.

4. Giuseppe Zanotti Peep-Toe Platform: Cartoonish proportions make this jaw-dropping pump an outrageous statement-maker that will have them doing triple takes.
At
Bergdorf Goodman for $795.

5. Christian Louboutin Lady Daf Tartan Mary Jane: I’m loving the exaggerated new look of the Mary Jane. This one, with Scottish flair, has personality to spare.
At
Bergdorf Goodman for $1,075.

Celebs Still Like Celine Tote

Everyone is rocking the Celine tote bag now.  It came out a couple of years ago and is still popular.  I love this bag and wish I could afford it but, alas, school fees and what not have me completely cockblocked on this one.  Still, I can oogle away as long as Hollywood keep it in sight.

Phillip Lim's Pashli Satchel

This bag is beautiful.  I'm such a consumerist that I seriously would be broke if I made a lot of money.  Sometimes the best way to save is to be poor.  This little lovely would be in my closet around dozens of others for every color and fabric possible.

Johnny Depp Becomes a Comanche

All Johnny Depp fans listen up!  His great-grandmother was a Cherokee or a Creek and Johnny has always expressed pride in his Native American heritage.  Due to his new role as Tonto the Lone Ranger's sidekick he was invited to join the Comanche nation, accepted, and is now a member.

Not sure if white man friend or just pausing next to me

LaDonna Harris, a Comanche and president of Americans for Indian Opportunity, heard about his film role and invited him to join the tribe.

“I reached out, and Johnny was very receptive to the idea," she told the website Indian Country. He seemed proud to receive the invitation, and we were honored that he so enthusiastically agreed.”

The ceremony took place at Harris's home, and Depp gave gifts to the attendees, as per tradition.

“Welcoming Johnny into the family in the traditional way was so fitting,” Harris said. “He’s a very thoughtful human being, and throughout his life and career, he has exhibited traits that are aligned with the values and worldview that Indigenous peoples share.”

Johnny Depp has said for years he wanted to play the role of Tonto and redefine the role and now he's getting his chance.  Many are upset about Johnny's look for the role.  Like many of his characters that he's chosen to play he developed the look himself based on a Kirby Satler painting.

Call Trent at Pink - Cuz Bitch stole my look

I rather like this look myself.  As someone with Native American heritage as well, I don't find this offense at all and am not sure why anyone else would.  If you know anything about Native American people this fits in with how they would/could have dressed during this time period.  It's not like putting on black face and singing Mame.

I trust Johnny to first do no harm.  He can't control everything about the movie and there could still be racist overtones or interpretations but it won't come from him.

Sin City 2 in the Making

In life, we all need to either crap or get off the toilet.  Robert Rodriguez has been promising to make a follow-up to Sin City for years and in the minds of the fans, he was off the toilet.  Instead, Senior Rodriguez, has decided to drop a deuce upon us all - exactly and approximately October 4, 2013.

The big guns are coming back in the deuce, Mickey Rourke, and Jessica Alba.  To up the ante the movie will be in 3D.

The movie makers are promising big names to add onto those confirmed which I'll wait and judge on that later.  Script details aren't coming out yet which I'm thankful for since once that happens you'll know which Frank Miller books it is based on so I can wait on that till I see the movie.  The fact this movie is in 3D is a non-factor.  The action was REALLY good in the last film and 3D would work since things blow up unexpectedly and fists fly.  But I'm off the 3D wagon because things aren't really utilized.  Not sure why its so sporadic, but maybe I just don't notice the intricate 3D things.  I feel movie makers in cahoots with theatre owners say things are in 3D put 2 - 5 things in 3D that are supposed to make you jump a bit and then call it a day.  Meanwhile, you've forked over an extra $5 and you could have just seen the thing in regular movie vision.

Having said that, I pay the extra money when it comes to movies I really like or think I really like.  I'm such a cinephiliac, I see movies multiple times in 3D and the special XD/HD 3D thing.  I hope this movie is one I'll be putting on replay next year.

Southland Still Amongst Us

I am TV obsessed.  I get stressed at the levels of my DVR, I feel obligated to watch shows I'm a fan of no matter what is going on in my life.  Trust me as someone with a full-time job, full-time college student, friends, and family this is not easy.

Lydia Looking Lovely

Fortunately for TV addicts who love Southland, it has been renewed and will continue to stress/entertain us.
TNT has ordered 10 episodes for a fifth season of Southland, scheduled to begin in February 2013.
Not only is Southland possessing a solid fan base, but it is picking up fans in the markets advertisers love.  I couldn't be happier.  This past season, Marla Gibbs of 227 fame showed up.  For those of you not from the 80s, Marla played Regina King's mother on 227.  Regina King is pictured above and plays Det. Lydia Adams.  On 227, Regina's character's name was Brenda.  Marla comes on Southland as the grandmother of a suspect and calls Regina, Brenda.  Regina corrects her and says I'm Lydia each time and Marla says "Oh, right," and such things.  This was soooo funny.  I almost peed my pants laughing especially since Marla can't act anymore and she was just having a good old time.  I love it when old people do that.  They paid their dues and don't have to worry about anything and so just do DGAF (don't give a f@#$) things.

I'm hoping the writers keep things popping and tense for the new season and drop in the funnies like they did in that episode.  Woot, Woot, Squee!!!  Here's to Season 5!

Borgias Keepin It Goin

Showtime has renewed The Borgias for a third season and the creators are hoping to keep things going until season four, the final one.  They apparently have always planned on keeping things to 4 seasons and getting the third makes things that much easier.
For season three, Academy Award-winner and Emmy nominee Neil Jordan (The Crying Game, Interview with the Vampire), will continue to serve as creator, executive producer, and will serve as writer and director of select episodes.

Season two of THE BORGIAS currently, airs on Sundays at 10 p.m. ET/PT, and [its season] will [air] [sic] on Sunday, June 17th at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

I like The Borgias and its one of the shows I love from Showtime.  I can't say I watch this on Showtime but thankfully I get to Netflix this badboy for the entire season.  As I write this, I'm looking at my Disc 3 for The Borgias and will finish my first season.  Hopefully, the writers, et al, can keep things going and make it fun if not good and accurate.

Giuliana Rancic on until 2015

Despite infertility issues and getting cancer, Giuliana decided to have a life.  She beat cancer into remission and is now pregnant via a surrogate.  Well, despite everyone else having problems with R-Rating she does not and E has renewed her contract until 2015.

Behind every good man is a good woman - with a lot of assistants to help maintain the image

News Anchor and Managing Editor Giuliana Rancic has extended her overall agreement with the pop culture cable network through April 2015. Under terms of her agreement, Rancic will anchor and serve as managing editor of E! News for the next three years, and will host the network’s highly rated Live From the Red Carpet signature events. She will also continue to co-host the popular weekly comedy series Fashion Police, and will host other specials for the network. In addition, E! will have “first look” rights to Rancic’s ideas for series, specials and other broadcast projects, both scripted and non-scripted.

[sic] Suzanne Kolb, President, E! [says] “Giuliana’s on-air charm, charismatic personality and outstanding professionalism have made her one of TV’s most recognized hosts, and her work has helped propel E! News to new heights.”

“It’s been an amazing ride, and I’m excited for my journey at E! to continue. I’m extremely proud of the tremendous opportunities E! has given me over the past ten years and I’m excited to be part of the network’s exciting future,” said Giuliana Rancic.

Giuliana joined E! in 2002 as a correspondent for E! News, and she has been Anchor and Managing Editor for the program since January 2005. E!
I like Giuliana, she seems smart and vulnerable at the same time.  I wish her well in working on E, it doesn't seem to be hard to stay and work there as a woman but it is the TV business and that automatically comes with stresses.

Getting a Move On

I've decided to change some things up and will not necessarily be dieting but rather stop eating party/snack food as if its recommended by the USDA and exercising.

I think I've tried this plan in various forms but I'm working on gathering and maintaining the motivation I need to give it a greater effort and to keep things going.  A Turtle's Life For Me is doing something and I am inspired to make some changes.

Basically, my plan is to plan my meals, workout 4-7 times a week in some form or fashion.

Also, I am trying to cut my costs and get out of debt.  I've done this several times and I know the work and self-discipline it requires.  Since, I've done this before to the point where I've managed to buy and keep a house despite being laid off, this goal is pretty simple for me.

Basically, I'm going to post my work outs.  What I plan to do versus what I do daily.  I'm going to track my my meal plans and show what I planned and what I cooked versus what I ate.  In regards to my debt, I'm going to show all my debt ala Gail Vaz-Oxlade and make sure I'm on track.  Then, show how I'm paying things off step by step.  I need to figure out how to make those tracking bars of original debt and show things going down as I pay them.

I hope to be able to see my weight do the same.  Oh well, here's to the plans of men.
