Sarah Michelle Geller is Reborn!!!

Were you a Buffy fan back in the day?  I sorta kinda was but I like Sarah Michelle Geller and wish her the best.  She's done some crap movies and now has returned to her first source of income, television.

According to http://www.deadline.com/hollywood/, Mrs. Prinze is going to CBS in a show called Ringer.
Ringer, written on spec by Supernatural writer-producers Eric Charmelo & Nicole Snyder, centers on a troubled young woman (Gellar) who, while on the run from the mob, hides out by inhabiting the life of her wealthy twin sister, until she learns that her twin’s life has a bounty on it as well. Brillstein's Peter Traugott is executive producing, with Gellar, Charmelo and Snyder co-executive producing. Geller, repped by ICM and Brillstein's Joanne Colonna, has been heavily pursued by the broadcast networks since the end of Buffy in 2003. Her only TV gig since then had been the HBO pilot The Wonderful Maladys. Charmelo and Snyder, who are story editors on Supernatural, are with UTA and the Shuman Co.
This sounds kinda good, but I don't think it fits CBS.  This sounds like a USA or Fox show really.  I haven't heard of any good news from CBS except for The Good Wife and for goodness sakes they have Jerry O'Connell on their network.  If that hottie can't help them nothing else can.

Movie News - Box Office Toppers for 1/17/11

Look out Kato, you're zooming into Number 1 faster than no critic expected.

I've no idea why critics tend to trounce movies like The Green Hornet when they know they will be popular.  This movie is popcorn fun to have for everyone.  A few curse words, and some scenes not appropriate for children but nothing major.  Critics seem to think everything needs to be the rebirth of The Ten Commandments to be valuable and always give crap to movies like this.  Shamefully women are the worst.

I saw The Green Hornet and loved it.  If you haven't go see, totally good flick.

The other good flick that came out this weekend was The DilemmaVince Vaughan and Kevin James did really well in this flick, but I gotta give it up to Queen Latifah ala Dana Owens.  Her lady wood and her connection with the team that will make electric cars roar made the movie.

I did like this flick but I think it should be a DVD rental and not a full fledged outing.  V2 is really good in and so is KJ but in the end it just didn't matter.  Chemistry should be between love interests and these guy's love didn't do it for me.

I'm going to recommend a pass on this one but give it an early Blockbuster viewing once it comes out for rent.

Black Swan Gas - FML

I really like the website FML which details embarrassing moments from peoples lives for the world to see.  This is a really good one.

Today, in dance class, the instructor asked me to demonstrate the five splits to the group. I slid down, my legs opening wider as I descended. I then loudly farted for the full 5 seconds it took to reach the ground.

Jeez, Louise, can you imagine.

Sanolds Not To Be

YouTube.com

Nope folks, that future joined-up celebrity twin name of Sanolds (Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds) is not to be.  It has been officially debunked by America's Sweetheart herself.
“I think there will be a collective sigh amomgst women across the united States when I say he’s not my lovah,” Bullock, 46, says on the red carpet before Sunday night’s Golden Globes. “He’s just an amazing friend for 10 years … but I don’t get his loving after dark.”
Oh, no!!!  I hate this truth.  I would really like to see them together having good times.  It's like Scott Hamilton being America's ambassador to the figure skating world.  It just fits.  I could see them celebrating anniversaries giving sweet interviews together for the rest of their lives.

Oh well, we still have the allerative couple Kyra and Kevin.

Johnny Cotter vs Jesus Freaks

Do you know who Johnny Cotter is?  No, few do he's an artist and with still being alive his fame is limited.  But that is about to change with his new piece featuring David Beckham on the cross which is rumored to have been purchased by that ever lovable chameleon Boy George.

Daily Mail Online

According to the Daily Mail, there is an ongoing police investigation about this painting and the complaints of offense they have been receiving by those who walk past the Kent gallery of Mr. Cotter.
Artist Mr. Cotter who created the work said two police officers visited him and told him there had been a complaint that it was causing offence.  He agreed to take it down but was last night contacting police again to see under what law they acted.

Celebrity: David Beckham was chosen to investigate 'who we worship' in the 21st century, said the artist
He said: 'This is not an anti-Christian painting. The point of it is to question who we worship in the 21st century.

'Is it God or is it people like David Beckham or reality TV stars who get paid millions and are looked up to.
'I chose Beckham because he is a modern day icon and known the world over. I am commenting on the cult of modern day celebrity.

'Who do we really worship in the 21st Century? In fact the local vicar told me I have done more to open up debate in Folkestone on religion than anyone else for 30 years.
'I have had complaints but they are outnumbered by the people who have admired it.'

The painting has been on show since November. He said Boy George had been in touch to see if he could acquire the work.
The artist said: 'The painting appeared in my window the day I opened and I had a small doorstep protest, bibles pushed through my letterbox and various notes and letters condemning me and telling me to turn away from the devil.

'I have tried to explain its not a religious piece but a thought provoking piece of modern day art.'

A Kent Police spokesman said: 'Two officers visited the art gallery and explained there had been a complaint.
'When the owner said the work in question was due to be taken down at the end of the week it was decided no further action would be taken.'
Boy, oh boy.  You can't do things like this without the police barging into your place what can you do.  Honestly, you think after all the recent years of fighting against censorship by Madonna and her acolyte Lady GaGa the state would stay out of the realm of artists and let them do as they please.

Weekend Whatnots

So, school is coming back to haunt me and I knew this was going to be my last weekend before the chains of studying and test prep came to lock me in.

I discovered The Company On Stage in 2010 and thought it was a really nice place to go and see a play.  The theatre is intimate with not a lot of leg room but it makes up for that with great performances.

Unfortunately, I missed the play that kicked off their season, Three Bags Full, but I did get to the opening night of Guilty Conscience.  It was a good play, very well written.  You may have seen it before since it is not a new play done especially for the theatre.  If so, no spoilers please.

I'd never seen the play before, but as a fan of legal thrillers thought I'd give it a go and I'm glad that I did.  It was a lot of fun to watch the play and follow the onion layers as you are finally revealed to who the murderer is.  Great time, I recommend this one.

Keanu Reeves does Henry's Crimes

According to Hindustan Times, Keanu Reeve's latest film, Henry's Crimes makes people want to do it.  According to Keanu, people are walking up to him and saying they want to get it on and right there based on the film.  -  Seriously, Keanu I think it's based on your face, but who I am to adlib?

Supposedly the story of a man who goes to jail for a crime he didn't commit then decides to commit the crime to reap the rewards makes people want to be physically intimate with each other.

I don't know about getting it on based on this but I do want to see it and do things to Keanu.

Keanu Reeves Meets the Red Couch

As a huge fan of The Graham Norton Show and Keanu Reeves, I was overly excited to see the two meet up.

YouTube.com

Yes, Graham's famous red couch gets famouser (sp?) when Keanu's lovely rear took to it.  He also had on one of my favorite comediennes who seemingly helped Keanu relax a bit.

As a Keanu fan, I'm fully aware that if Mr. Reeves doesn't relax and get into it he can give a pretty bad interview.  Attitude filled, boring, and monosyllabic.  Thankfully, Graham can really read people and knew to add someone who likes to interrupt a lot with witty things.

Loved, loved, this show it was so funny.  At the very end of Graham's shows he always has a few people from the audience sit down and tell a funny story.  The key is it's got to be something you'll want to listen at a party.  Nothing overly filled with detail, no going back and forth to explain something you left out.  Concise and interesting is the point.  If you don't Graham has a lever that he pulls and the chair they sit on flips over and their legs go flying.

Poor, poor Keanu didn't seem to quite get this.  He thought Graham was quite rude with his rejects.  One poor girl, said Hi stretching out the word and going really high-pitched like she was an annoying pretty girl with nothing to say.  Immediately, Graham pulls the lever.  Keanu seemed to look to his fellow visitors for what to do.  Poor thing, such a nice guy you can tell he didn't like it and wanted someone to help him say stop.  When Bette Midler was on the show she took the lever from Graham, didn't help much though.

Depp & Richards Documenting Talk

For a while now rumors have been swirling that Johnny Depp was doing a movie on Keith Richards.  Almost everyone knows that Depp based his Pirates character on Keith Richards swagger but Depp has fallen so head over heels that he is making time to record "talks" with Keith.

Wenn.com

According to the Toronto Sun, Johnny has been filiming the documentary for quite some time.

He says, “Any time he’ got a minute, any time I’ve got a minute. We’ve done one, let’s say, installment that was fairly intense. We shot for a few days and got 35 hours of footage. That’s me and Keith talking. We’re sitting on couches, drinking and talking.”
How cool is that?!  I'm not a huge Rolling Stone fan but if for those who grew up wanting to hang out with their idols you know how awesome this is.  Imagine being cool yourself and then being deemed a friend of someone you admired.

Cheers, Johnny!

Johnny Depp - Ever the Dandy

According to NY Daily News, Johnny Depp is the last of the dandies.  Apparently, since his humble beginnings and refusal to notably use a stylist prior to award shows marks him as original he is being celebrated.

I'm a huge JD fan and I'm very happy with this.  Did anyone notice the memo went out for emerald green on last night's Golden Globes?  So many stylists coordinate or so many stars use the same stylist it's a conspiracy of lazy stupidity.

Thankfully for those who love cheekbones and stars who don't follow the formula, Johnny is there to save the day.

Hee Hee I straight snagged this pic from the NY Daily News article.  Looking good, Johnny!

MLK REMEMBERED

Today is the US national holiday for remembering the life of Martin Luther King, Jr.

Today is the first day of this blog and I think it is a good way to start things with the words of a man who believed in so much for everyone and made such a difference.

To the dream!
